Scholarships and Awards

Following is the list of applications for scholarships and awards offered by School of Business at Montclair State University. They are available in .pdf format for download. However they are also available in the Dean’s Office, PA-454.

The application deadline is March 14, 2008. Applications are to be returned to the Deans Office (PA-454) in the School of Business.

North Jersey Regional Development Counsil (NJRDC) Award

One award for $1000 to a full-time undergraduate student in the School of Business taking business courses to prepare for a career in business. Selection will be based on merit and students must demonstrate academic excellence during their semesters in college, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicant must reside in North Jersey and demonstrate financial need. Must attend either the Chamber’s Sports Celebrity Dinner on June 5th or the Foundation's July Board meeting. A written essay will be part of the application.

Hancouski Scholership

Four $500 awards. Must be a male full-time student in the School of Business. Must be at least a junior in the forthcoming academic year with performance and leadership potential. Two must be Accounting concentration students. A written essay will be part of the application.

Bobby Hughes Memorial Scholarship

One $500 award issued to a full-time male undergraduate student enrolled in the School of Business. A written essay will be part of the application.

James F.X. McGovern Leadership Award

One award each year for approximately $300 to a student who will be a senior year student in the following fall semester. Awarded to a student majoring in a program offered through the School of Business in preparation for a career in business. Good leadership skills. Good character and a commitment to service to the campus and community. High academic achievement. No application necessary, letter of recommendation must come from faculty member.

Gary L. Palumbo Scholarship

Awarded each year to a full-time NJ resident in junior year with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA majoring in Accounting, Finance, Management or Marketing. Must demonstrate financial need.

Maryann Peins Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time junior or senior female student enrolled in the School of Business and preparing for a career in the business world. Student must not otherwise qualify for financial aid. Amount of scholarship is approximately $400.

Soverel Book Award

One award each year for approximately $300. Undergraduate or Graduate student in one of the programs within the School of Business who is an employee of a banking organization in the community.
