MS in Business Analytics

Big data and business analytics are transforming business.  Business analytics professionals transform data into intelligence that leads to improvements in financial performance, strategic management, operational efficiency, and customer loyalty and retention.

As the volume and variety of data and information grows, so does the demand for qualified professionals with deep analytical experience across roles, functions and departments in every organization.   According to a report from McKinsey Global Institute, the U.S. will experience a shortage of 1.5 million managers and analysts capable of developing actionable insights from big data by 2018.

If you have an interest in applying quantitative methods, exploring and uncovering relationships through data analysis, and using data to solve business problems, the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program will prepare you for success in this emerging field.  

Program Overview
The MSBA is designed to meet the growing demand for business analytics professionals and to prepare graduates to influence decision-making, strategy and operations with timely, fact-based insights and knowledge.  

You will gain a competitive advantage with an industry-aligned curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and a global network of experts and employers. Throughout the program you will strategically apply analytics to real-world business issues.  Emphasis is placed on diagnosing business problems, developing actionable recommendations, and effectively communicating results to business leaders.  You will emerge with the analytics expertise to solve complex problems from multiple perspectives, making you the strategic asset companies want to hire.

Our 10 course/30 credit program is designed for full or part-time study and can be completed in 18 – 24 months.

Our graduates pursue job opportunities across a spectrum of industries and functions, including consumer research, finance, marketing, supply chain, healthcare, risk prediction, security, fraud detection, retail sales analysis, market research and insurance analysis.  Business analytics professionals may also serve as internal consultants on a range of projects within their organization.

Graduates of our Master of Science in Business Analytics program are well prepared to succeed in diverse industries and across business functions.  Analytics professionals perform analysis to produce dashboards, data visualizations, predictive models, and more.  

Gain a Competitive Advantage
The program provides a strong foundation in data analytics, statistical and predictive modeling, analyzing structured and unstructured data, enterprise architecture, data management, knowledge discovery, pricing analytics, analytical reporting, segmentation analysis, and data visualization.

The required core courses supply depth of knowledge in the use of analytics to identify trends and patterns and refine and develop strategies suggested by the data.  The program culminates with an applied industry based practicum.  

Ideal candidates
We are seeking students with strong quantitative abilities and a desire to leverage analytical tools and technologies to uncover business solutions. Ideal applicants will hold an undergraduate degree in business, science, math or another technical field and have three years or more work experience.
