There are four major areas of concentration offered through this department:
Students in Management focus on the operation of business organizations with the goal of learning how to become effective business leaders and managers. Students are provided with the opportunity to develop managerial skills in human resources management, small business management, interpersonal relations, international business management and strategic management.
Students in Management Information Systems graduate with skills which prepare them to provide technology solutions to management information needs. Students take courses in computer applications, networking, web development, computer programming, database development and systems analysis. The program, utilizing the latest in hardware and software, prepares students to be competitive in today’s commercial global economy.
Students in the Operation Management concentration receive training in analytical methods for solving operations problems in industry. These methods, together with total quality management techniques and computer applications, are handled in depth to permit students to become proficient in solving problems in supply chain management, logistics, transportation, service delivery and other operations challenges.
Students in the Hospitality Management concentration are provided with the strong business foundation required for careers in this dynamic, growing, service-oriented industry of lodging, food service and beverage enterprises. The program of study focuses on learning to manage daily operations, financial and human resources, and marketing with an emphasis on studying new trends and the impact of globalization.
