Center for International Business

The Center for International Business (CIB) was established in 1993 to serve as a resource for SBUS to help promote international academic networking, international business education and research, and student learning through travel study and international internships. Since its inception, the CIB facilitated international of business curriculum, assisted in developing new IB curriculum, IB internships, promote faculty research and publications. An important outcome of this initiative had been the establishment of international business conference series under the banner of the Society for Global Business & Economic Development (SGBED).

Currently, the CIB organize its activities under:

  • International Trade Counseling Center (ITCC)

Society of Global Business and Economic Development (SGBED)

SGBED

In 2005, CIB and the Board of Governors of the international conference series met in Seoul, S. Korea and decided to form the Society for Global Business & Economic Development (SGBED) and the society functions as part of the CIB; its primary objectives include expanding the network of international institutions, strengthening the conference series, research and publications. The SGBED is housed at the CIB; SBUS had extended its support with office space, computing facilities, including website development and maintenance, faculty and graduate assistantships.

International Trade Counseling Center (ITCC)

In 1989 SBUS established International Trade Counseling Center (ITCC) with the objective of developing and delivering international trade focused education and outreach services to SMEs located in northern NJ. The Center offers a range of educational and outreach services in cooperation with a number of public and private organizations, including the US Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center, NJ District Export Council, District Office of the SBA, NJ Division of International Trade and local chambers of commerce.
