About School of Business

Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the web pages of the School of Business at Montclair State University. I hope what you find here will help you understand who we are and what we offer to students, alumni, and the business community.

In the School of Business, our paramount objective is to prepare our students to be immediately effective in cutting edge businesses in the modern global economy. We emphasize excellent teaching, small class sizes, and attention to the academic, personal, and professional development of our students. Our educational philosophy is specific and student-centered.

The BS in Business Administration is the single most popular undergraduate degree at Montclair State, despite our higher admission standards. We offer both undergraduate and graduate programs, and a comprehensive range of concentrations in both. Our highly qualified faculty bring experience as researchers and practitioners to their classroom instruction.

Our School of Business is accredited by the AACSB International, the premier accrediting body for higher education in business and management. Montclair State is the second largest university in New Jersey, and recently was ranked 6th among public universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report.

We are home to the International Trade Counseling Center (ITCC) and Center for International Business; the Center for Economic Research on Africa (CERAF); and the New Jersey Center for Regional Business. These centers sponsor conferences, tutorials and other activities that link the School of Business with the business and professional communities of our region and the world.

We have an active alumni association which draws its members from over 4,000 graduates. Our Business Advisory Council is composed of prominent business leaders who provide help and guidance for all of our programs and activities.

I hope you enjoy visiting our web site, and will welcome any questions or comments you may have.
